A little before 10:30 a.m. on Monday, a car with brake problems collided with Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in downtown Glasgow and then proceeded to travel down Market Street only to strike the Glasgow City building on the corner of First and Market Streets.

When the car collided with the City Office building, it tore off the natural gas meter creating a major gas leak that lasted almost an hour. The downtown area was evacuated while the gas leak was active.  Empire Gas had to come from Marceline to shut off the gas. No report of any injuries at this time
