By majority vote, the New Franklin School Board authorized the purchase of another lot at 124 Boggs St. The lot will be one of three the school has recently purchased on Boggs Street that will be used for more parking space. Total cost for the properties: $130,000. Board member Darren Harris voted against this purchase. He felt the property was not worth the selling price.

After the approval of the purchase of the  lot at 124 Boggs St., bids were examined for removal of the houses at 114, 120 and 124 Boggs St. The board accepted the low bid of $21,000 from Jim Renfrow for demolition and removal of the houses.
